Five years ago we purchased an existing distributorship. The previous owner used OrderMaster so we continued using it. We had to use pre-printed forms and type each item into the orders. Using Sage as our research search engine, we can now go from a proposal to a completed sales order, customer acknowledgement, vendor POs and customer invoice with little work. Harriet assisted in setting up our QuickBooks so that the documents created in Sage are exported in a correct form and accepted by QuickBooks in a manner that requires few adjustments. Harriet made the transition and set up easy for us to understand and implement. She is a good teacher. Earlier this year Marketing Connections made a transition to using Quick Books exclusively for all of our in-house bookkeeping. We eliminated a software that no longer met our needs. We engaged Harriet to help us through some major steps during this transition. She not only has extensive experience using Quick Books but also has developed an expertise using Quick Books primarily for our Promotional Products Industry.
In making this transition to Quick Books, we were tasked to more fully understand & develop QB procedures to replace our old ones. Initially, we needed to develop QB procedures for Order Entry & Invoicing & related A/R & A/P & payment functions. We needed to replicate many of the procedures & functions from our old software and learn how to do them in QB. As we progressed, we also discovered a number of related QB functions we needed to tailor for our specific operations. These included our Chart of Accounts, General Ledger Items lists, Supplier & Customer Lists to name a few.
With Harriet we then developed a training plan to do this for 3 confidential primary users, plus 2 more restricted users. Harriet was instrumental through many communications, conference calls & e-mails, to help us successfully make this transition to our now exclusively using Quick Books. She has helped us through numerous problems & solutions with many elements of our systems along the way. She has been most responsive and creative at times, when we needed timely solutions to bottlenecks in our system. As a result we are now much more efficient in our overall operations. We are using sometimes unique Quick Books features to manage our business. Finally, she helped us develop memorized reporting which allows us to make timely financial adjustments as needed.
